Batman sketch card
I think this guy is called Bats-Man. He’s like half a bat, I guess.
Another one of the sketch cards I’ve done for one of the LBFAns.

Does that name work?

What would you, the readership, like to be known as?

If you’d like a sketch card I am still taking orders while I have the time before SPX, and yes, the original art for the strips is still available (although a LOT of them have already been purchased).

PS – A super-sincere thank you to all of the awesome readers who have helped make sure I am going to be able to make it to SPX. You guys and gals (apart from being very smart and incredibly attractive) are the best.

I almost forgot..

Also, because it is my birthday..

Devil Dinosaur Riding Superman!

This was done for me by one of my favorite artists, Nate Bellegarde ( www.fetorpse.org )
Keepin’ the theme and the dream alive!

Happy birthday to me!

It’s all my fault..

Things are running behind schedule this week, because I am sick and it is hard for Curt to yell at me when he is in Germany getting Crunktoberfest.

Enjoy this sketch card of Mister Miracle I did for one of your fellow LBFAns (Szul, if I’m not mistaken) while you are waiting.

Mister Miracle sketch card

Also, if you are reading this, and you paid for art and still have not received it, I promise you, it is on or will be on it’s way shortly.

ALSO, if you are reading this, and you asked for a page and have decided you don’t want to pay for it, could you PLEASE email me and let me know so that someone else can have a shot at it. And again, I cannot thank all of you that bought art from me enough.

Feet don’t fail me now..

Let’s do a blog!

1) Check out this sketchcard I did for one of our favorite LBFAns.

The Enthusiast sketch card

I am still taking commissions for sketchcards if more of you are interested. Just email me (see the ABOUT section for my email) and maybe we can do a thing.

2) We’re getting word that people who have ordered our book from Amazon are starting to receive them. If you have done so, please feel free to take a picture of yourself reading it or holding it or just proving you have one or whatever and we will post it and link to whatever you would like us to link to for you.

3) You may not have noticed yet, but there is now a little button below the comic on the right hand side that says “LBFA Vol. 1! Buy it here!”
Feel free to use that to buy our book.

4) We’re still working on deals to bring LBFAV1:UP to a comic store near you, but that could be a while.

5) If you’re new around these parts or if you just haven’t done so yet, why not join our Facebook group? We post things over there that we don’t post here. I’m not really sure why, but there it is.
Also, please feel free to meet and hook up with someone who is also a fan of ours, because that is the kind of thing we would like to facilitate. Hook-ups.

6) If you have not heard the official Let’s Be Friends Again theme song that Adam WarRock (aka Eugene Ahn) wrote and recorded, GO LISTEN TO IT RIGHT NOW!

That’s all I got.

Superman sketch coloured

While you’re waiting for the new comic, why not enjoy this sketch of Superman I did for one of the lucky jokers that correctly guessed my Halloween costume in my online-Halloween-costume-guessing-game-prize-time-game.
This is but one of the reasons you should follow me on Twitter.
Curt doesn’t use it much, but he has one as well.

He tried so hard..

Get a load of Sinestro over here..

Sinestro, now in color!
(You can click on it if you like.)

Another sketch for another internet compatriot that guessed my Halloween costume in my Halloween-Costume-Guess-O-Rama-Contest-A-Thon on my Twitter.

This is what happens..

Hello there.

Did you dudes have a good Thanksgiving?

I hope that you did.

You may recall me showing you the latest addition to my Superman and Scott Pilgrim high-fiving sketch collection a week or so ago, so I figured I might as well show you the first of my Superman and Scott Pilgrim high-fiving sketches..

Superman & Scott Pilgrim high-fiving by Bryan Lee O'Malley

Mr. Lee O’Malley drew this for me the first time Curt and I met him at HeroesCon 2008. We’d actually seen him briefly at MoCCA earlier in the year, but we were too busy trying to get people to buy our mini-comic to go talk to him.

I doubt there is a better way to start a themed sketch collection than by getting the dude responsible for half of the theme to get things going.

Superfriend Evan “Doc” Shaner used his incredible coloring skills on this Superboy Prime commission I did a while back.

Superboy Prime!

For this and many other reasons, he is awesome.

You don’t have to put on the red light.

Okay, let’s do some thangs!

1) We’ve done an interview for a blog about pop culture that we’ve agreed is probably the best interview we’ve done so far. You should all read it, because honestly, you need more of us talking about pee holes and Hawkman in your life. The interview is broken into two parts: One & Two

2) Check out this amazing painting Sheli Hay did as part of an online art project she’s doing.

null

Amazing, right?
It features the first appearance of The Enthusiast and Mr. Fahrenheit Jr. in their Surf Mission Uniforms.

3) And finally, don’t forget, the LBFA 2nd Annual Original Art Sale is still in full swing! If you’d like to buy the original art of any of the strips (or any of the other miscellaneous art you may have seen on the site) e-mail me at thechrishaley@gmail.com and I’ll let you know if it’s been sold already or not and how much it will cost.

Heroes Con 2010

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Heroes Con was absolutely fantastic this year for the LBFA boys, and I’m sure there’ll be more posts to come, but I wanted to share this particular thing with you today.

The Doctor by Joel Carroll

The unbeatable Joel Carroll has been an online buddy for years, but we finally got to meet for the first time at Heroes Con this past weekend.

He was good enough to do this brilliant sketch of the Doctor for me.

As you might guess, I absolutely love it.
