Sentinel Mk. 69
Unless the Sentinels are some kind of robot designed to kill only mutants as sexily as possible, there are some odd design decisions apparent in their design.
Keep safe this weekend, everybody.

Not at all related to sexy robots, but Euge and I have a new podcast (that I’m sure Curt will make a guest appearance on sooner or later) we’d love for you to check out.

It’s called The Gravity Falls Gossiper and it’s about the cartoon Gravity Falls and, you know, life and stuff.
The first two episodes are already up, so, yeah, check it out, subscribe on iTunes, follow the Tumblr and the Twitter and like the Facebook and blah blah blah, all the usual stuff you do when there’s a new thing to check out!
And, I am still trying to scrounge some dollars to get a new computer, so if you want to buy some art from me, here is a link for that!
My most sincere thanks to everyone that has helped out already and bought some of my silly scrabdoodles! You dudes are the best!

Trask had to find Northstar’s weakness.

I always wondered why they were purple. I mean, if you’re going for an intimidating color scheme, Trask screwed the pooch on that one.

Same reason everything else in 20th century comics was purple. That shit printed mad dope in four-color.

Mass-produced giant robots seem like such a terrible idea. Every time one gets blown up I cringe at how much all that scrap metal must cost the taxpayer.
At least they could pick humanoid OR giant. One defeats the purpose of the other.

Unless I’ve made an egregious error, the face in the last panel is now my icon for this site.

Okay, I hate to be ‘that’ guy, but I don’t get this one. Someone smarter than me explain it.

Also if this comic had sound the “Ahh Ahh… feel it baby” sting to Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch’s “Good Vibrations” would sound off for the last panel revelation.

I’ve always been struck that “Trask” is an anagram of “Stark”, and Sentinenls have a lot of similarities to the Iron Man armours, including the glowing chest circle thingy.

Now that would have been a cool bit of world building, if Tony Stark had been making the Sentinels back in his weapons designer days. Plus, if something like that had happened back in the day it might have help to keep the X-Men from settling into their bizarre existence where apparently Captain America is totally fine with government sponsored DNA based discrimination.

Look at that disco medallion he forced his son to wear, and suddenly this doesn’t even seem like a joke nearly so much as just a fact.

Man, Gravity Falls built up a fanbase awfully quick. Anyway, what concerns me about the Sentinels is that these badass killer robots seem to be made of tinfoil. It practically takes no effort for the X-Men to beat them.
