Mark Waid’s selling his massive comics collection to fund a new digital initiative! That’s cool, right? He’s trying something new, doing it in a PR-friendly way by putting his own collection up for grabs, something a lot of us have considered. Good for him.
WAIT A SECOND, SAYS THIS GUY. I’m still not entirely sure what he’s mad about. Waid never said he was gonna stop doing print comics. He’s just trying something new with the digital format. Is it really that scary to a retailer that somebody’s gonna try something new out? Do retailers really just not want to support anything online because they can’t sell it?
I’d never want retailers gone. The good ones, anyways. There are plenty of terrible comic stores littered across our great land, and I’ll shed no tears at their demise.
