Yaaay!
Man, those kids got the right idea! See some sludge all over the ground, looking to all the world like some science shit just ready to leap all up in your genome? TOUUUUUCH ITTT!
So, if you’ve been paying attention, our schedule has been mega-fubared. We did a Comics Alliance thing that I hope brought somebody some small amount of joy, and now we done did this thing that’s all about entertaining you. I make promises about schedules and, believe me, I love it when we keep them, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen.
It doesn’t mean we don’t love you. Because we do.
We love you.
Hi everybody! (Then you say, “Hi, Chris Haley!”) I’ve got to jump in and let everyone know that this strip is special because it was really an all star LBFA & Friends effort. Curt, of course, wrote it, but little did he know that our good friend Liz Palomo and I had already hatched a plan the week before wherein she and I would secretly collaborate on a future strip to surprise Curt. By total coincidence, the next time I saw Liz was when I was working on this script and since it was right up Liz’s artistic alley, we decided she would draw it and I’d handle the lettering and coloring. It then became an even bigger group project when April Steele (who is a spectacular colorist) offered to work on the coloring with me.
So, I just wanted you all to know that it took four people to make this comic as good as it is, and that it was a lot of fun getting to collaborate with everyone.
And, unlike when Curt surprises me with a strip, no one had to get fired.

This strip is great in many ways. But the first thing I did was be like “OMG, LOOK AT THAT LITTLE BOY’S TOOFS!!!”

Also of note, a Palomo is a Mexican cocktail consisting of grapefruit juice and Tequila. It’s delicious, though not as delicious as this strip. Mmmmmm, light sweet crude.

I agree, Derek. Liz is one hell of a Mexican cocktail.

Yeah, Liz Margarita can eat it! She is SUCH a slut.
You guys made this looks so good with the color! I especially like his hair, and the shadows on the sand.
