The very definition..

I got inspired by Brandon Schaefer (and this Flickr group) to try my hand at designing some fake movie posters.
Well, I mean, they’re not for fake movies. Superman: The Movie is a real movie.
My design is a take on the classic original poster.
I don’t think I’m particularly adept at this sort of thing, but it was still fun to give it a try. I’m happy to hear what you think.
Here it is with the (almost) same credit trappings and what not as the original.

i dig it, only thing i woulda done, is give more color definition to the bottom of ‘Superman’, like shadowing or something.

I totally love this. Amazing design take on the poster. I realize the type at the bottom might be hard to read on screen but at poster size would not be an issue. To shadow or outline would weight down the otherwise superb sense of light and speed that’s occurring. Your colour sense is fantastic. Well done!! Very well done.

Lar – Wow. Thanks a lot, man. While I appreciate feedback of any kind, positive feedback is even more exciting. And positive feedback from someone I’m surprised even knows we exist is even more exciting than that previously mentioned higher level of excitement. As someone who knows what kind of time is generally required to make webcomics (and we don’t even do it daily!), I appreciate you taking the time to say something.

Xaiados – What Lar said is basically what I would have said, but I would have said it much more sheepishly : “Well, I.. um.. was kinda trying to.. um..” Either way though, I’m glad you dig it.

I think the original tagline (with “You’ll”, rather than “You will”) works better.
