SPX ’09! Also, buy our book!

SPX was great for the LBFA dudes this year. Also, of more important greatness was meeting all the cool people who came by the table, whether they’d heard of the strip or not. We gave our sales pitch to some folks, bribed some with promises of Chris kisses, and acted like we were famous douchebags to others. A successful show.

Also, we should mention the unofficial LBFA slave helper friend, Eugene, of the People You Don’t Know podcast and War Rocket Ajax. The dude let Chris and I stay at his place, drove us everywhere, sat at our table while we went and geeked out over Scott C., and generally was just extremely helpful.

Mega shoutouts (do people still do shoutouts or is it like an old white person thing now) to the people we hung out with at the show, Tim Finn, who I could listen to talk about the history of the Transformers for possibly ever, Marianne Ways and Colleen Venable, the two hottest chicks with beards that aren’t cashiers at my grocery store, old friends Brett and Elizabeth, and all the other folks that sort of recognize us like Dave Roman, Nate Powell, Danielle Corsetto, Chris Piers, and Eugene’s mom (owned).

If you want to see some of the pictures or just tell us that we’re pathetic, attention-seeking hacks, join the Let’s Be Friends Again facebook fan page thing where only 80% of the fans are people Chris and I know in real life! We also put a bunch of pictures we took at the con there, so, you know, you can tell we aren’t lying about people actually liking us.

Lastly, the book is up for sale on Amazon.com right HERE! HELL YES! IT’S A BOOK! THAT WE DID! ON AMAZON! WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

I will say this, do not buy the book from Amazon if you live anywhere close to Memphis, TN. We will be selling it at the fine local establishment Comics and Collectibles and we may even have some sort of a signing thing where Chris and I beg you to let us mark your book all up with something dumb.

We will be putting some kind of button thing at the top of the page that links right to the book so you can buy it, and also a store where you can get the prints and the t-shirts and the what nots, but we are two stupid man-children who are still figuring the whole website thing out so have some patience.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you’re having a pretty kickass day.

I want to say, in all honesty and with all sincerity, that I hate both chris and curt so much after spending 3 days straight with them. I cannot stand the sight of them, or the sound of their voice, without launching into a rage that destroys anything within my grasp. How I will always remember SPX 2009 as the day I saw the worst of what humanity has to offer.

But the LBFA book I got was pretty awesome, I guess.

Will the book be available in local comic book shops? I try to buy from the little guy as much as possible, but if Amazon is my only choice then it looks like I’ll be shaking hands with the beast once again.

I gotta tell ya, the Darkhawk sketch you did (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Lets-Be-Friends-Again/133790048844?v=wall#/photo.php?pid=2616502&id=133790048844) makes me happy every time I see it. It was cool meeting you guys!

Mahatmazombie – We are looking into getting it into comic shops all over the country, but for the immediate future, unless you live in Memphis, Amazon is the best way. Short of Curt and I shipping you one ourselves.. which I don’t know if we’re going to be able to do. We will definitely keep the site updated with any and all new developments.

Dave – It was great meeting you, dude! Thank you for giving me an excuse to draw Darkhawk!

Your “Conflicted Martian Manhunter bestrides a Unicorn” postcard is the envy of all my friends. The masterwork clearly demonstrates that not even the candy-floss-colored majesty of a rampant unicorn can ease the wrenchingly emotastic ache of J’onn J’onzz as the orphanned bastard of an entire planet, or the shameful sting of martian virginity.

How the hell else can you get on a unicorn? OOH, the shame burns like fire–his one true weakness! BURN, J’onn!

It has doubled the value of my rental fridge.

    Thank you. Awesome show.

Next year I’m going to get one of those sketchbooks and try and get various independent cartoonists to do interpretations of obscure Marvel superheroes. Kate Beaton’s ROM Space Knight!

No, I won’t really. But I want to!

Sarah – Point your friends this way then as we will be selling those little guys here in the very near future!

Also, that is the best description of anything ever.

Actually, since I’m with a webcomic studio… that has a news post with rss feed… and we’re giving comics kudos where comics kudos are due… I will be pointing as many folks as I can your way.

We’re doing two artists/comics every two days in our humble news feed. I’ll link you when y’all’s goes up. I’ll mention the book too.
