Apparently something happened with his parents.

Curt’s in France again and Batman is beating up children.
The whole world has gone topsy-turvy.

There is a good chance a proof copy of LET’S BE FRIENDS AGAIN, Vol. 1 – UNDER PRESSURE will be in my hands within the next 48 hours.

Are you excited?
I know I am.

If everything goes well after I’ve.. um, proofed it, that means it will be available for you to purchase very soon.

Again, excitement abounds for both of us.

We’ll be debuting the book and making a personal appearance/peddling our wares at SPX on September 26 & 27 in Bethesda, Maryland.

We’ve got a special page in the book just for signatures and sketches, so we would love for you to come by and see us there.

On the subject of you being able to see us there, as I am not Curt (read : not rich), I desperately need to come up with some money to pay for my plane ticket to SPX.

This is where you come in.

I’m selling any and all of the original LBFA art, so if there is a strip you think you’d love to own in all it’s pencil and ink glory, please leave a comment or e-mail me! Or DM me on Twitter or text me or call me, whatever.

Prices will go from cheap to very cheap depending on how much art you’re actually getting. I am not going to burn anyone on this deal, I promise.

Or, if you don’t want any particular strip, but you would like some original art, we can do something with that too.

I’ll do fully penciled and inked sketchcards for $10 and full size stuff for $20.

Sound good?

Thank you in advance for helping me out and for helping yourself to something you’ll sell on ebay in a few years for waaaaay more.

  1. Shane

Would these be available for someone living in Canada?

  2. chrishaley

    Shane – Certainly.

  3. Andre

I don’t know why, but I’ve never laughed harder at one of these Let’s Be Friends Again strips than I did tonight. Masterful.

  4. Michael Miller

Hilarious as always guys! I would be interested in the Wally West high as hell strip art if its available, depending on the price (I sympathize with the poorness).

  5. jason

you should auction off your now famous “spider-man/ charlie brown” strip at no less than a starting bid of a 1,000 dollars. it’s that brilliant!!!

you two interwebbing comic booky upstarts are doing more in the few years with this strip than i’ve done in 10+(AGH!!!) years since i graduated art school! congrats on your continued successes and on simultaneously making me feel like a total loser.

  6. jason

love batman kicking the shit outta that kid too BTW. hilarious and really well colored too!

  7. chrishaley

If anyone needs my email address for the purposes of mailing me about some art, click on the “ABOUT” button at the top of the page.

  8. Dawson

I would love to get the strip where Dr. Strange uses a Black Lotus!!! How can I contact you!?

  9. Dylan

Great strip. Hopefully there’s a bonus level in the Arkham Asylum game like this. And I agree with Jason, the coloring’s hot up in this joint.

  10. chrishaley

Dawson – See the comment from me just above yours. :)

  11. Jim

Dude, the SPX is a great time. Just be careful… there are EMO kids everywhere peddling their comics about their depressing lives. You’ll over hear things like “Darkness is my blanket” and “My daddy doesn’t love me.” It’s a strange place for upbeat comic guys like us… but maybe that was just the ’06 SPX… ((shudder))

  12. Ol' Man Priddy

Is the last panel of this strip the debut/secret origin of Lil’ Chris and Lil’ Curt?

  13. Ol' Man Priddy

Also, does it even need to be said that that’s a really sweet drawing of Batman?

  14. chrishaley

Jim – Curt and I had a blast at SPX ’08, so let’s hope that ’06 was some kind of weird anomaly. You going to be there this year?

  15. Jim

I have been wanting to go back to SPX because I had a great time other than the booths I was near. But I don’t think I am going to make it back this year. I have been mostly touring Beer conventions which are awesome to promote at… and just be at, haha.
Good Luck down there though! And I can’t wait to get a copy of your book.

  16. Jeff

This may be one of the best strips ever. Love the THOK, Chris.

  17. chrishaley

Joel – I read your first comment and was like, “Whaa??” Then I scrolled back up and looked at the comic and my mouth just hung open. Not at all intentional. Even when I was choosing the hair colors, it didn’t occur to me what I was doing.

I think Grant Morrison would say that the characters were using me as a vessel to further create their world. Grant would probably say it in a much better way though. I am not a writer.

My point is, yes, this comic also now acts as our secret origin.

After this fateful night, we made a solemn vow that we would make comics where Batman is a dick!

  18. Markus Seaberry

Awesome strip. Batman is an awesome douchebag. Really hoping you guys weigh in on the Disney/Marvel thing soon.

  19. vanesssa

Holy shit! I L-O-V-E the idea of this as Lil Chris and Curt’s “secret origin’. Awesome.

  20. lynn

Me, too! Oh, how I want those little dolls! I want to squeeze them and love them until their little eyes pop out! Oh, you should do a Lil Chris and Curt strip or SERIES!! :D

  21. Andy S

I think I smell a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum. Batman: L’il Arkham. The game will be a LOT easier, but the satisfaction will be high.

  22. chrishaley

Andy S – I would definitely play that.

  23. Louis

I got to see a copy of the book today and it looks epic.
